Request Tab for Entries

This tab contains the Request Entry ID.

Request Entry ID

This attribute specifies which Request-purpose Entry ID should data from this entry be transferred to if the user clicks Request while a record containing this entry is displayed. Select a Request Entry ID from the list. The Entry ID Policy Helper is available for you to create a new entry ID or modify an existing one, if needed.

For example, when viewing a record retrieved from a Z39.50 search, a user may wish to place a request asking the library to order this title. If TITLE is selected as the request entry ID, when a new title purchase request is selected, the title from the retrieved record will be filled in automatically in the request.
