Need to Know Wizard

The Need to Know policy contains information about need-to-know restriction levels. User policies and access restrictions are compared to item policies and access restriction levels. The user must have at least one Need To Know policy in common with the item being charged. SirsiDynix Symphony also checks the associated access restrictions; the user must be at an equal or greater level than the item to be displayed or charged.

If a library user does not have the same need-to-know status as a need-to-know item, the item cannot be checked out.

From the List policies window, you can create, display, modify, copy, or remove the Need to Know policies. Click Close to exit the wizard.
