In addition, the General index is searched for e–Library General or Search Everything searches. The General index is an amalgamation of all keyword indexes on your system. If you have set up a new keyword index on your system for a previously unindexed field, the presence of the new keyword index means that the field automatically becomes indexed for general searching. As a result, the General index will vary system by system, depending on which fields are indexed on the system.
To determine which subfields of these fields are searched, it is necessary to examine the Keyword Index variations for each MARC tag of each format.
To examine keyword index variations for a tag
1 | On the Configuration Module toolbar, click the Cataloging Configuration group wizard. |
2 | Click the Catalog Format wizard. |
3 | Select the MARC format, and click Modify. |
4 | Click the Entries tab, all tags included are listed. Select a tag (i.e., 100), and click Modify. |
5 | On the Keyword Index tab, select a Keyword Variation (i.e., SAU) and click Display Subfields gadget. |
