Configuration Wizard for Hyperion

The Configuration policy is used to control how the Hyperion Digital Media Archive (DMA) appears in the staff client and whether or not certain modules of Hyperion are available. Hyperion features may be enabled or disabled by selecting the check box next to each attribute. Click Save to save your changes.

Attributes

This policy includes the following attributes.

Display Resource Types

If this attribute is selected, the Resource Type policy names will appear in the hierarchy of the Hyperion staff client only. If this attribute is not selected, Resource Attribute policy names will not appear in the staff client when the metadata hierarchy is browsed.

Display Unavailable Search Hit

If your site has the Hyperion Access Control module, these unavailable search hit display choices are available: Not Found, Unavailable, and Display.

If you click Not Found, only search hits that can be accessed by this user will appear. If the resource type is inaccessible to the user, no message will appear, and the user will not know how many search hits their term may have given them. This will occur if one or more of the following conditions is met:

The Access Level of the resource type is higher than that of the user.
The Clearance of the resource type is higher than that of the user.
The user does not match the Access Restrictions assigned to the resource type.
The user does not match the Need to Know policies assigned to the resource type.

The “UNAVAILABLE FOR DISPLAY” message only appears if the resource type has been deleted and the Add, Delete, Update Metadata report has not been run; or if the resource type has become inaccessible for some reason and it has not been updated with the Add, Delete, Update Database report.

If you click Unavailable, and if the resource type is inaccessible to the user, the user will be given the number of hits their search term found but not the name of each resource type. In place of each resource type’s name, the following “UNAVAILABLE FOR DISPLAY” heading will appear.

The “UNAVAILABLE FOR DISPLAY” message will also appear only if the resource type has been deleted and the Add, Delete, Update Database report has not been run.

If you click Display, a resource type that is inaccessible to the user will appear. The name of each resource type and the number of hits that the search term retrieved will appear. However, if the user tries to view the resource type and/or its attached images, the “SORRY, YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO ACCESS THIS ARCHIVE RECORD” message appears.

Extended Metadata Formats (Used by the Hyperion Metadata Manager)

When this feature is selected, the system will permit the creation and display of extended attributes on the staff client. Searching Extended Attributes will return search hits. If this feature is not selected, the Extended Attribute module is disabled, and extended attributes cannot be used. If the Extended Attribute module is unavailable, the following will occur:

Resource Type policies will not prompt for a Format policy.
The Hyperion staff client will not have any extended attributes.
There will be no Hyperion Format policy.

If this feature is selected, the Extended Attribute module will become available and the following will occur:

The Resource Type policy will prompt for a Extended Attribute Format policy.
Extended Attributes will appear in the Hyperion staff client.
There can be multiple Extended Attribute Format policies.
There can be additional Hyperion Entry ID policies.

Full Text Retrieval Available

When the FTR (Full Text Retrieval) feature is selected, the system allows full text searching and indexing. If this feature is not selected, full-text searching and indexing is not available.

Note: This feature requires the Hyperion Media Text Manager.

Search Hits with Children

If this attribute is selected, a search hits list will include the resource type containing matching data and its descendents. If this attribute is not selected, Hyperion will include only the matching resource types in the search hits list.

Note: When this attribute value is changed, the user must run the Rebuild Metadata report for the changes to take affect.
