Restoring items to their original values
If you specified to archive the values of item fields before editing them as part of a group of items, you can restore the edited values of the items in the selected group to their original values.

When you archive the item values for a group, those archived values are saved until you restore them. What happens to the item between the time you save the archive and restore the values has no effect on the restored values.
For example, you may create a group, archive the values, then change the library value so that all of the items are from the same library. You might subsequently change the library value for one or two of these items. However, when you restore the item values for the group, they will all be restored to the library values that were saved in the archive for the group.
If an item is included in more than one group, and those groups also archive changes, the item’s field values will be restored back to the whichever group is the last to be restored.
To restore the original values to a group of items
1 | Find and open the group you want to manage (for more information, see Finding a group). |
2 | If a list of saved groups displays, select a group in the list and click Manage Group. |
3 | Choose Restore Items. |
Note: Restore Items is available only for groups that have been archived.
4 | In the Confirmation dialog box, click Yes to restore the edited fields to their original values. |
The Restore Items Results window opens and displays the status of each item.
5 | Click Close to return to the updated Manage Group window. |
Note: When you restore an archived group, it is returned to an “unarchived” state.
