Add NSB/NSE Characters Helper

The Add NSB/NSE Characters helper allows you to add and view the NSB (Non-Sorting Begin) and NSE (Non-Sorting End) characters in bibliographic and authority records using the WorkFlows Java client cataloging and authority wizards. Because these characters are only used in UNIMARC formats, the helper is only available on SirsiDynix Symphony Unicode systems. The NSB/NSE are non-printable characters and will not display in full record displays or cataloging and authority wizard View panes. They also will not display when printing with File\Print Preview and File\Print Screen Menu commands, nor when using the Bibliographic Description helper.

This helper is only available if the Add NSB/NSE Character behavior property is selected in wizard properties and the format of the record is a UNIMARC format.

To add an NSB/NSE character

The ALT+N keyboard shortcut can be used to access this helper. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to select the character, tab to the Add Non-sorting Character icon, and press ENTER.

Instead of using this helper, you can use the CTRL+B keyboard shortcut to insert the NSB character and CTRL+E to insert the NSE character.
