Add NSB/NSE Characters Helper
The Add NSB/NSE Characters helper allows you to add and view the NSB (Non-Sorting Begin) and NSE (Non-Sorting End) characters in bibliographic and authority records using the

This helper is only available if the Add NSB/NSE Character behavior property is selected in wizard properties and the format of the record is a UNIMARC format.
To add an NSB/NSE character
1 | In the MARC editor, place the cursor where the non-sorting character should be inserted. |
2 | Select either NSB Non-sorting Begin or NSE Non-sorting End from the drop-down list that displays next to the Add NSB/NSE Character helper. |
3 | Click the Add NSB/NSE Character icon. The non-sorting character will appear in red in the cataloging template (or authority template). |
4 | To delete a non-sorting character, place the cursor before the character (which displays in red) and press Delete, or backspace over the character. |

The ALT+N keyboard shortcut can be used to access this helper. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to select the character, tab to the Add Non-sorting Character icon, and press ENTER.
Instead of using this helper, you can use the CTRL+B keyboard shortcut to insert the NSB character and CTRL+E to insert the NSE character.
