Global Item Modification Helper
Use the Global Item Modification helper to make global changes to item information after creating items in the Add Ordered Items to Catalog wizard. Libraries that have large collections and don’t create holding codes for all location/item type possibilities, might use this helper to change the location and other item features globally. Also, cataloging staff may change their minds about the item characteristics assigned after the items are added to the catalog. This helper facilitates a global change of the item values.
The following item characteristics can be modified globally using this helper.
Behavior properties control which characteristics can be edited globally.
When modifying the library, the Global Item Modification wizard performs transfer item commands to move items from one library to another. For information about how transferring items affects attached charges and holds, go to FAQs: Transferring Titles, Call Numbers, or Copies.
