Add a Claim Tool (Acquisitions)
Use the Add a Claim tool to create a claim segment for an orderline.
To add a claim

Position the insertion point in the Segment tree and click the Add a Claim tool. The claim segment will appear above all fundings and distributions in the Segment tree. |

Default values selected in wizard properties may appear for the claim segment fields. |

In the Claim Reason field, select a claim reason from the list. Claim reasons are defined in policies. |

In the Quantity field, type the quantity to be claimed. This value defaults to the number of unreceived copies for the orderline. If there are no unreceived copies, the default will be zero, allowing you to claim items that have been damaged in shipment, or for other reasons. |

Select the Date Mailed using the Calendar gadget. This field defaults to NEVER. |

Type a value in the Times Claimed field. |

In the Response field, select a claim response from the list. |

Select the Response Date using the Calendar gadget. This field defaults to NEVER. |

Claim segments for multi-part orders will display a Parts field. Type the value of the orderline Parts field if all parts are to be claimed, such as PT. 1%3. If only selected parts are to be claimed, type the missing parts values, such as PT.3. |

Click Save Your Changes. |
