Can I globally change reserve information in more than one field?
SirsiDynix Symphony allows a list of records to be edited globally, based on a course, instructor, or course/instructor combination using the Modify Reserve wizard. The Global Edit Field Values in the Modify Reserve wizard enable you to change reserve information globally in more than one field, as follows.

Click the Modify Reserve wizard. |

Use the Reserve Search helper to identify the item you want. |

If you search by instructor or course, global edit field values may display. Under Global Edit Field Values, type or select information in the fields you want to change globally. |

Instructor ID contains the instructor’s user ID. |
|
•
|
Expires (M/D/Y) contains date that individual copies can be released from the Reserve Desk. |
|
•
|
Course ID contains the course identification of the course number. |
|
•
|
Stage controls whether or not the instructor and course display in the Reserve Desk list in the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). |

Under List of Reserves, select one of the following Modify options. |

Click All to edit all of the reserve records in the list. |
|
•
|
Click Selected to edit only the selected reserve records in the list. Select the Modify check box next to each reserve you want to modify. |
Can globally edited reserve records be individually modified?
SirsiDynix Symphony can globally change values in individual instructor/course reserve record fields for a selected set of records. For example, if an instructor takes a sabbatical and a new instructor is assigned to teach her classes, you can quickly update all of the course records with the new Instructor ID. You can use the global edit fields in the Modify Reserve wizard to change the course records.

When you have completed all of the modifications, SirsiDynix Symphony displays a message that reflects the number of individual instructor/course reserve records that were updated.
